Denver Arts Festival Hunting For New Location

DENVER (CBS4) - The Downtown Denver Arts Festival will need to find a new home for this year's event after organizers learned Friday it can't be held at Auraria Campus.

The festival announced Thursday it found a home on Auraria Campus. A spokesman for the festival didn't disclose in a statement why the campus can't host it.

Its director said it is looking for a new location.

"We're obviously very disappointed and felt that we were ready to move forward at Auraria," Jim DeLutes said. "We appreciate Auraria's original interest, and we're looking forward to speaking to and working with other potential locations."

The free event, which features work from select national and Colorado artists, runs May 22-24.

Organizers said they're expecting 125,000 to attend the three-day festival.
