I-70 Bridge Work Near Idaho Springs Scheduled For Wednesday
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Bridge work over Interstate 70 that was delayed last week because of poor weather will resume Saturday evening.
Construction will begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday. I-70 will be reduced to a one-lane detour from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Similar closures will occur each night through Wednesday. The work is schedule to be finished by 7 a.m. on Thursday.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is building a new bridge at exit 240 near Idaho Springs as part of its larger Peak Period Should Lane project aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the mountain corridor.
The project is slated to end in the fall.
