Wind Chills Down To Around -50 Possible Before Arctic Air Moves Out

DENVER (AP) - Wind chills down to around 50 below zero are still possible in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska through Wednesday morning before bitter cold arctic air moves out.

Colorado's Eastern Plains could see wind chills readings from 25 below to 40 below zero. Greeley and Meeker were among the coldest locations in the state, with regular temperatures at 27 below.

Even though winds are not very strong in southern Wyoming, the National Weather Service says a few locations in the Laramie Valley could feel as cold as 50 below zero. Elsewhere in southern Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle it could feel like 20 to 30 below zero.

Cheyenne, Wyoming set a record daily low temperature Tuesday when the mercury dropped to negative 22, breaking the 1923 record of minus 21.
