Colorado School of Mines Hires Gregg Brandon To Replace Bob Stitt

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado School of Mines wasted little time finding a replacement for head football coach Bob Stitt.

On Tuesday the school hired New Mexico State offensive coordinator Gregg Brandon.

Stitt took the head coaching position at the University of Montana. He had been the head coach at the Colorado School of Mines the past 15 seasons.

Brandon, 58, has coached at both Wyoming and Colorado.

"I am excited to become the head football coach at Colorado School of Mines." Brandon said in a prepared statement. "It is a great opportunity to work with outstanding young men who excel in the classroom and win on the field."
