Driver Concerned About Couple Out In The Cold Gets Carjacked

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A good deed for a Colorado Springs man turned into a terrifying experience Friday evening.

According to police, the man picked up a couple near Jet Wing Drive and Astrozon Boulevard around 6:40 p.m. because he was concerned they were cold.

The man agreed to drive the couple about a mile down the road, but when they arrived at the destination the man pointed a gun at him and took his car.

The car is a gray Saturn Ion with Colorado license plate 415-ZFX.

The male suspect is described as being white, 26 years old, 5-foot-9, 160 pounds with short black hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.

The woman is described as being Hispanic, 24 years old, 5-foot-4, 170 pounds with long black hair. She was wearing a white hoodie and black sweatpants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867). Tipsters may remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward.
