Westminster Man Gets 35 Years In Child Porn Case
DENVER (AP) — A Westminster man serving time in state prison in a child sexual assault case has been sentenced to 35 years on federal child pornography charges.
Gregory Lynn Hopson, 44, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in September to transporting and possessing child pornography.
Investigators say they found thousands of photos and videos of children and infants in his home in March 2011 while he was on probation in the sex assault case. He was re-sentenced to 16 years to life in that case the following year for violating terms of his sentence.
The federal sentence will run concurrently with the state sentence.
The Denver Post reports that Judge0 Lewis Babcock stared at Hopson during his sentencing, saying he didn't care about his victims. Hopson didn't speak during the hearing.
