DIA Sees Few Delays Amid Storm, Heavy Traffic

DENVER (CBS4) - Despite wintry weather throughout much of Colorado and heavy travel volume, passengers at Denver International Airport experienced few flight delays and reasonable security lines on Monday.

From Tuesday through next Monday, airport officials expect about 1 million travelers.

Many inbound passengers who arrived Monday were greeted warmly.

Jerry O'Nan, a military dad, greeted military arrivals at the airport.

"Not too many of them in uniform today, but you can tell by the haircut, the backpack. It is so exciting," he said.

DIA asked passengers to arrive early and keep presents unwrapped.

"Make sure you pack them in your bag, unwrapped. It will just save some time and TSA won't need to open up your packages," Laura Coale, a spokeswoman, said.
