29 New Denver Cops Begin Field Training

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Police Department welcomed 29 new officers on Friday.

They've passed the academy phase of the program and will now begin their field training.

These graduates are the fifth class of new officers to join the department in the last six years.

"The most important tool that you will have is the citizens that are paying you to do that service. And they're willing to work with you if they know you. If you respect them they will respect you," Chief Robert White told them.

Two new Denver Fire Department arson investigators also graduated on Friday.
