Pot Shop Gives Discount In Exchange For Homeless Donation

DENVER (CBS4)- A marijuana business in Denver is giving customers a discount if they donate to help the homeless.

Sticky Buds has three locations in the Denver metro area. A single joint typically costs $12 but for the next three days customers can get one for just five cents in exchange for a food donation for the homeless.

Customers are on board.

"I think it's an awesome idea," said one man.

"I brought in a couple of cans of food," said another customer.

The discount is given to customers who donate a non-perishable food item, warm clothing or cash.

"We have a campaign called 'Give and Toke,' " said Sticky Buds owner Rodney Hurlbut. "We wanted to do something, let our customers know that we could contribute back to our community."

Sticky Buds took the holiday sales idea to a new level in giving back to the community.

It's something that customers are noticing.

"Giving back to the community and showing that they're not just another dispensary," said one customer.

The deal will be available through Friday, Dec. 13.

Customers can also be specific about which charity they want their donation to benefit.
