Police Find Minivan, 3-Year-Old Child After Search

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver located a stolen minivan with a 3-year-old child inside early Thursday morning after a short search.

The vehicle was stolen from 3150 W. Floyd Ave. in southwest Denver just after 8 a.m. Thursday when the child's mother ran inside her home to grab something.

Officers searched for the brown Plymouth Voyager minivan with Virginia license plates and located the vehicle near Federal and Yale.

The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on West Floyd Avenue which is near Dartmouth and Federal.

Police believe the suspect may have driven down Federal Boulevard for a short distance when he ditched the vehicle with the child inside near Federal and Yale and took off.

The child was not harmed. The mother and child are speaking with detectives about what happened but officers believe the only witness to the crime was the child.

Officers are examining surveillance cameras in the area for any clues that may help them track down the suspect.
