Boulder Talks About How To Boost Minimum Wage

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Colorado's minimum wage of $8 an hour is under review in Boulder, where a community meeting is planned to talk about options for a higher "living wage."

Activists say $8 an hour isn't sufficient in Boulder. But state law bans municipalities from raising the minimum wage on their own, so the community meeting in Boulder Thursday evening will examine options for boosting wages.

There is no wage proposal before the Boulder city council, and no specific amount has been proposed as a proper "living wage" for Boulder.

It is the second community forum this year on the topic by the City of Boulder Human Relations Commission.
