BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – While Jim McElwain is busy preparing his Colorado State Rams for a bowl game in Fort Collins, there will be no bowling for the boys in Boulder.

The Colorado Buffaloes finished 2-10 this season after another hard-fought loss to Utah on Saturday.

The Buffs went winless is conference play for the first time in nearly 100 years, and yet they feel they're close to turning the program around.

"We're right there knocking on door. We used to not even be on the doorstep," CU head coach Mike MacIntyre said. "So we'll knock the door down and here we go. So I'm excited about the future and optimistic about everything, and so are our young men. They don't believe it's a pipe dream anymore, they believe it could be reality … now they really believe it can happen."
