RTD Light Rail Skimmer Wanted, Credit Information Could Be Compromised

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are searching for a suspect wanted for using stolen credit card information obtained at RTD Light Rail ticket kiosks.

Investigators discovered credit card skimmers installed on some RTD Light Rail ticket kiosks in the Denver metro area in October and the first week of November.

The stolen information has been used to make unauthorized withdrawals at several Denver metro area ATM locations.

The suspect captured in surveillance is believed to be responsible for installing the skimmer devices and making the unauthorized withdrawals.

Investigators in Arapahoe County discovered three skimmers and battery packs at the Dry Creek Light Rail Station earlier this month.

Others were found in Littleton at the Mineral and County Line Light Rail Stations.

Investigators previously believed the skimmers were record only devices and couldn't transmit credit card information.

Anyone with information regarding these crimes or recognizes the suspect in the sketch is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can text to CRIMES (274637) then title DMCS and enter your message or send an e-mail to metro-denvercrimestoppers.com. If the information you provide leads to the arrest and charging of a wanted individual, you can receive a cash reward up to $2,000.
