More Than 20 Homes Tagged With Disturbing Images In Parker

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4) - Neighbors in Parker are hoping the person or people responsible for an outbreak of disturbing graffiti are captured.

Authorities say they are investigating the case as a possible hate crime.

Late Saturday night someone spray painted pornographic, satanist and anarchist symbols on at least 20 different homes in the Dove Ridge subdivision as well as in a park.

On Monday the graffiti, which also included vulgarity, was only partially cleaned up. Neighbors like Lisa Alandza, who was among those whose homes were hit, say they are upset.

"It's just kind of scary," said Alandza.

Alandza found pornographic images spray painted on her garage when she woke up Sunday morning.

She has three children, including a young girl.

"I tried to prevent her from seeing the stuff that was on the garage, because that was inappropriate," she said.

Alandza told CBS4 one of the tags was particularly upsetting for the community.

"It was a (pentagram) + swastika = smiley face. And that's what upset everybody," she said.

Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff's office say the vandals caused thousands of dollars in damage. They say the graffiti may be the work of teenagers but they aren't sure.

Anyone with information that might be helpful to their investigation is asked to contact them at 303.660.7505.
