Fort Logan National Cemetery Observes Veterans Day

DENVER (AP) - Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver is holding a Veterans Day ceremony to honor men and women who served in the armed services.

The observance is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9644 in Englewood, about two miles from the cemetery.

The ceremony is usually held at the cemetery but was moved indoors because of the cold weather.

Speakers include Air Force Col. John Wagner of the 460th Space Wing at Buckley Air Force Base and Thomas Muir, a deputy undersecretary for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Another Veterans Day tradition is continuing outside — flag waving over Interstate 25 in the Denver Tech Center. The "flag guys" are bundled up and using a portable heater to stay warm.

Location

VFW Post is at 2680 W. Hampden Ave, Englewood.
