Tad Boyle Wants Buffs In 'Attack Mode'

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Buffaloes' men's basketball team was 11th in scoring last year in the Pac-12 conference, so Coach Tad Boyle turned to former Nuggets Coach George Karl for off-season advice.

"(My) conversation with Coach Karl was more (about) pace of the game, playing fast and be in attack mode. That's what we want to do. Because it's hard to play at that pace and keep it up. And if we do that, there's not a team in the country that can come in here and stay up with us," Boyle said.

Colorado is picked to finish third in the Pac-12 this season behind Arizona and Utah, but ahead of both UCLA and Stanford, two teams that made the Sweet 16 last season.

The Buffs have been to the NCAA tournament three straight seasons, but have lost their first game the last two times.

The Pac-12 might not be as competitive this season, so the Buffs might earn a higher tournament seed in March.
