Hickenlooper Joins 'Personhood' Opposition Effort

AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Gov. John Hickenlooper is joining abortion-rights advocates Saturday who are opposing a ballot measure to add "unborn human beings" to Colorado criminal code.

The governor is listed as a "special guest" at the No On 67 rally in Aurora.

Abortion-right advocates say that because the ballot measure does not define "unborn human beings," the measure could ban abortions and some forms of birth control and fertility treatments. It is the third question on Colorado ballots that could give unborn children rights, knows as "personhood" rights.

Supporters say Amendment 67 would not ban abortions, just gird protections for pregnant women.
