Man On Bike Has Leg Severed After Getting Hit By Train

DENVER (CBS4) - A man on a bicycle lost part of his leg when he was hit by a train early Tuesday morning in Denver.

Police say the man was circling on his bike near the tracks at South Kalamath Street and West Bayaud Avenue when the train sideswiped him. The impact severed his leg and foot.

Emergency medical technicians took the man to the Denver Health Medical Center. Police said he was likely drunk.
