CBI Identifies Officer, Victim In Rocky Ford Shooting

ROCKY FORD, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has identified a 28-year-old Rocky Ford man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting.

The victim was identified Monday as Jack Jacquez. Jacquez was shot and taken to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

The Rocky Ford police officer was identified as James Ashby. Ashby is on administrative leave pending the investigation.

The CBI says it can't release more details because of the active investigation.
