Driver Arrested In Fatal Collision In Arvada
ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Denver police have arrested a man accused of killing a 17-year-old girl in a head-on collision Friday.
David Kenneth Bunn, 54, faces vehicular homicide and vehicular assault charges, both felonies, and is also accused of driving under the influence and driving recklessly.
Lyneah Dike, a passenger in the vehicle struck by Bunn's car, was killed instantly. She was a student at Standley Lake High School.
Police said that at approximately 7:30 p.m., Bunn was driving southbound on Wadsworth Boulevard near 75th Avenue in Arvada at a high rate of speed when he veered across several lanes of traffic into a northbound lane. He hit a vehicle driven by Lyndsey Petrie, 18, who was injured and taken to a local hospital.
Bunn was also hospitalized for injuries and arrested by police on Wednesday when he was released.
