Plows Clearing Snow From Trail Ridge Road
ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews on Trail Ridge Road are clearing two to three feet of snow in the hopes the road can reopen this weekend.
Kyle Patterson, a spokesman for Rocky Mountain National Park, said poor visibility and drifting snow and ice have made passage difficult over the last couple days.
At more than 12,000 feet, it is one of the highest paved roads in the country. It is usually closed from late October through late May.
