Boulder Police Searching For Suspects In Violent Bar Attack

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A man suffered serious injuries during a bar fight in Boulder on Friday when an attacker smashed a glass into his face, police said.

The victim will likely require plastic surgery, police said, according to medical personnel.

The attack happened when the suspect bumped into the victim, causing the victim to spill his drink on the suspect. Witnesses said the suspect then smashed the glass into the victim's face, causing several deep gashes and cuts.

The fight occurred at Conor O'Neill's, a restaurant and bar, shortly before midnight. The bar is located at 1922 13th St. on the eastern end of the Pearl Street Mall.

A second man was also hurt but not as seriously. Both victims were taken to the hospital.

Police said the suspect and another man fought with the victims after the drink spilled. All four were escorted out of the bar. The suspects and two women fled north on 13th Street. The suspect who cut the victim with the glass was bleeding from his hand, police said.

Witnesses described that suspect as a white male with possible dark skin, 6-foot to 6-foot-1 with short black hair. He has a large colorful tattoo on his left arm, possibly a sleeve-type tattoo that may include a leaf or tree design. He was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and jeans.

The second suspect is a white male, approximately 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9. He was wearing a baseball hat and shirt with a large red star on the front.

One of the suspects may be named "Derek," police said.

Boulder Police said they'd also like to speak with the women, who may be named "Katie," a blonde, and "Leah," a natural brunette with dyed blond hair.
