Former Officer Accused Of Stalking Ordered To GPS Monitoring
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A former police officer in Fort Collins accused of stalking a woman is out on bond and will be monitored by a GPS device.
Jarett Branson, 29, appeared in court on Tuesday. He has been charged with stalking, criminal trespass and official misconduct. Investigators say he used police resources to find out where the woman worked and lived.
"He's only allowed to be in one location," Sgt. Dean Cunningham with Fort Collins police said. "He can't leave that location without prior approval."
The woman reported to police that Branson kept contacting her at home and work. Investigators say he used police resources to find out where the woman worked and lived.
The woman's name hasn't been released.
"We wanted to keep her name out and keep it as private as possible to give her that extra layer of protection," Cunningham said. He said she has 24-hour access to detectives in case Branson violates the GPS monitoring order.
Branson was fired after the arrest.
