Durango Cleans Up After Weekend Flooding

DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) - Just as Durango residents are mopping up after rains flooded parts of town over the weekend, the area could get more precipitation tonight.

Mud and debris covered cars in downtown, and the deluge even lifted an 800-pound concrete cover off a clogged storm drain.

Durango got as much rain yesterday as it typically gets during the entire month of September.

A flash flood watch was lifted at 9 a.m. Monday, according to the Durango Herald. By Monday morning, the town received approximately 2 1/2 inches of rain since early Sunday.
