Florida Georgia Line Helps Build Home For Denver Family
DENVER (CBS4)- The popular country group Florida Georgia Line put down their instruments and picked up hammers and other tools to help a Denver family in need.
The group performed at Red Rocks Wednesday night but they were up early Thursday to help build a home for a Denver family as they partnered with the Habitat for Humanity project.
Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, members of Florida Georgia Line, have been involved in fundraising for Habitat for Humanity in the past but this time they got physically involved.
"If we're going to talk about something we want to go ahead and get our hands dirty and do it, that's kind of how we've always been and if we're going to be involved in something we really want to be involved," said Kelley. "To be out here and see the houses and see the development and see the people who are putting in the sweat equity, the homeowners, the volunteers... It's inspiring."
The homeowner was thankful to have the extra help with the building process.
"We are feeling so excited because we all ready to move into a brand new home which is going to be everything our own," said homeowner Mon Magar. "We are really excited."
The three bedroom home is located at 15140 E. Andrews Drive in the Montbello neighborhood. The Magar family plans to move into their home in April 2015.
Florida Georgia Line will perform at Red Rocks again Thursday night.
