Jordan Dignitaries Set To Meet In Denver
DENVER (AP) — Dignitaries from Jordan will be in Denver on Thursday to mark the 10-year partnership between the Middle Eastern country and the Colorado National Guard.
Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards, adjutant general of Colorado, will host a delegation including Prince Feisal Bin Al-Hussein and the commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
In 2004, Jordan and the Colorado National Guard agreed to foster a relationship by sharing information on topics that include aircraft maintenance, cybersecurity, women's leadership and noncommissioned officer development.
The meeting comes a day after President Barack Obama ordered the United States into a broad military campaign against Islamic State militants in Syria and Iraq, two of Jordan's neighbors.
