New Park Opens In West Denver, First In 30+ Years
DENVER (CBS4)- People living in West Denver are enjoying a new park. This is the first new park for the area in more than 30 years.
Some elementary school students were among the first to enjoy Cuatro Vientos Park located at 3800 West Alameda Ave. The name means "four winds."
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock believes the project will make a positive influence on children who live in the neighborhood.
"The real power behind this is that it's transforming the neighborhood. It's bringing something that people can value and show as an asset as far as quality of life in this neighborhood," said Hancock.
The park will officially open Saturday. Hancock said he will continue to work to open more spaces like the new park across the City of Denver.
