Finger Severed In Attack On Boulder County Deputy
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A Boulder County inmate faces additional charges after allegedly kicking shut a metal door that severed part of a finger of a sheriff’s deputy.
The incident happened Saturday evening. The deputy’s left hand was caught in the doorjamb, and the pinkie finger just below the nail was severed.
Deputies said Crystal Baucom, 23, became violent while showering and then kicked the door.
The deputy was taken to Boulder Community Hospital for treatment, but doctors couldn’t reattach the severed portion.
Baucom was charged with one count of first-degree assault against a peach officer, a felony. A week ago, she was charged with assaulting a different deputy.
