Dentist To Offer Free Care On Monday At 2 Denver-Area Locations
DENVER (CBS4) - A dentist is opening his doors to help Coloradans in need who can't afford dental care.
Dr. Nicolas Porter is dedicating his Monday with a Labor of Love event. Two Colorado offices will be offering cleaning, cavity filling, extractions and other exams.
"(It's for) people have been dealing with toothaches and infections for a long time," Porter told CBS4. "They have never been to the dentist, and a lot of times, people don't go to the dentist because they are fearful of not being accepted -- they don't have insurance, they don't know if they can even go.
"So this is really an opportunity for us to be all about our motto, which is come as you are."
Porter says it's important for him to give back because he grew up in a family who couldn't afford dental care.
He's offering the care at the two Risas Dental offices in Colorado from 8 a.m. until noon on Monday. One is in Wheat Ridge (3815 Wadsworth Boulevard) and the other is in Aurora (3575 South Chambers Road).
Spanish-only speakers are welcome at the event.
