Allstate: Fort Collins Once Again The Safest City To Drive In
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Fort Collins boasts the safest drivers in the country, according to Allstate.
The city has appeared in the rankings' top 10 every year since the report's inception.
The typical Fort Collins driver will get in a car wreck every 14.2 years -- longer than the national average of once a decade.
The report is compiled based on claims from Allstate's customers.
At least one resident CBS4 talked to said it's no surprise.
"I'm from an area back East where the traffic was really bad, so to me this is good," Cindy Spencer said.
Colorado Springs' drivers are ranked No. 14, Lakewood is No. 19, Denver is No. 88 and Aurora is No. 115.
Brownsville, Texas, was second.
The worst drivers in the nation are apparently in Massachusetts, where motorists in Springfield (197), Boston (199) and Worcester (200) round out the list's bottom.
