DENVER (CBS4)– A water main break shut down all lanes of Colorado Boulevard north of Interstate 25 for a while. Southbound lanes were expected to open by 5 a.m. Friday.
The 12-inch water main break was discovered just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Arkansas Avenue.
Crews shut down all southbound lanes of Colorado Blvd. between Arkansas Avenue and Louisiana Avenue. A short time later all lanes of Colorado Blvd. were closed.
Northbound lanes reopened to traffic at 4:30 p.m.
Crews were working to isolate the break and make repairs. What caused the break is being investigated.
Crews advise drivers to take an alternate route until repairs are complete.
