Police: Stolen iPod Located, Returned To 5-Year-Old

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The little girl who had her iPod Touch stolen from a frozen yogurt shop now has it back after the suspects called police.

Police in Aurora released surveillance video of the suspects, a man and woman, showing them taking the iPod from Menchie's at Gardens on Havana located at 10601 East Garden Drive on Friday.

Last night about 10:30 police in Aurora received a call from the woman stating that she saw herself on the news being identified as a suspect and wanted to return the iPod.

Officers met with the suspects who said they found the iPod when they sat down at the table and waited awhile for the owner to return. When the owner didn't return, they took the iPod and left.

They told police they never intended on keeping the iPod but had been so busy they simply forgot about it until they saw the news and were reminded they had the iPod and called police to turn it in.

The iPod was returned to the 5-year-old girl and her father was so grateful that it was returned he forgave the suspects and declined to file charges.
