ERIE, Colo. (CBS4) – Despite loud opposition against it, Erie town trustees voted to approve 13 new oil and gas wells Tuesday night.
The two fracking sites are west of the Front Range Landfill in Erie near the Vista Pointe and Vista Ridge subdivisions. One site would have six wells and the other seven.
Eighteen people spoke out against the wells at the meeting. They are worried about how they will affect their property values.
State regulators had already approved the plan.
