The driver lost control of the SUV near the railroad tracks and the 18-year-old landed on the tracks. The train was unable to stop in time and ran the teen over.

Two other 16-year-old males were injured in the crash. One remains in the intensive care unit with life-threatening injuries.

Police believe excessive speed was a factor in the crash. They're investigating to see if drugs or alcohol also played a role.

It's not clear who was driving the SUV.

No names have been released.
