Father Convicted In Infant’s Death Moved To Halfway House
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) – A Louisville father convicted in his young son’s death has been moved to a halfway house after serving only five of his 16-year sentence in prison.
In 2009 a jury found Alex Midyette guilty of criminally negligent child abuse after 11-week-old Jason Midyette died from suffering more than 30 broken bones and a fractured skull.
Prosecutors said Midyette had been a frustrated father who abused his son, and ultimately killed the child.
Now Midyette is in a halfway house in Longmont and due for a parole hearing next February.
Midyette’s wife Molly was also sentenced to 16 years. She has been living at home in Boulder with an ankle monitor for nearly a year.
