Lakewood Police Search For Suspect In Beating That Left Man In Coma

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Lakewood police are looking for a man they say beat someone so badly that the victim is now in a coma.

Police say Charlie Robert Brammeier, 30, robbed and beat the man Monday at a home in the 1200 block of South Pierce Street. They want to find him before he hurts somebody else.

The victim is in the hospital fighting for his life. His roommate said he was beaten with a flashlight.

Police Brammeier and the victim are acquaintances.

"They were quickly able to identify a suspect in the case and issued a warrant for his arrest for attempted first-degree murder and aggravated robbery," Andrea Joo with Lakewood police said.

Police think Brammeier could still be in the area and could be driving one of two vehicles -- either a silver 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup with Colorado plate 333-LDP, or a black Isuzu Trooper with Colorado plate 186-ZAC.

Brammeier is considered armed and dangerous and is aware that he is being sought by police.

"Anybody that's willing to hurt somebody and inflict that much damage on them, it's unpredictable what they might do to their next victim," Joo said.
