ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4/AP) – Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said he’s surprised his recent comments on 104.3 The Fan radio in Denver suggesting Manning was a great leader were taken by some to mean he was trying to disrespect his former QB, Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But he’s not backing down on his assertion that “Manning is one of the best leaders ever.”
“Peyton stayed after practice and worked with me and tried to make sure we’re on the same page,” he said. “That’s what it’s about, it’s that extra work.”

Sanders said he is learning to play at all different positions in the Broncos offense.
“I’m not on the right, I’m not on the left, I’m not on the outside — I’m everywhere,” Sanders said. “I’m playing slot, outside, and that’s what a receiver wants. But with that said, you’ve got to know the whole conceptual value of the play and that’s the hard thing. … But it makes you a smarter player and a better football player.”
Sanders said he’s excited by his teammates attitudes that they don’t just want to get to the Super Bowl but to win it.
