Couple Says 3 Masked Men Broke Into Their Home

DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver are investigating an early morning call for help after a couple said masked men broke into their home.

Police responded at approximately 7 a.m. to a home on the 2700 block of South Reading Court in southeast Denver. The people who live at the house next door called 911 for the couple and reported the incident.

The couple, a man and a woman, told police three men in masks broke into their home and then held them up at gunpoint. They said the robbers took a television and cash.

The man received cuts and bruises on his head allegedly during the incident.

The couple said they were able to get out of their home through a side window.

Many neighbors told CBS4 they have been concerned about what they said has been suspicious activity at the home since the start of the year.

Neighbor Kathy Funayama was among those who told CBS4 she saw lots of people coming over to the home and only staying for short periods. At first the cars those people drove weren't very expensive, but then fancy sports cars began showing up.

"I always had a funny feeling," said Funayama. "And I heard some things last night on the other side of my bedroom wall. People were running down that little tiny hill. And I thought 'Omigosh.' "

Neighbors said a father and his son live in the home.

Police said they do not believe what happened at this house was a random crime, and they do not suspect anyone in the neighborhood is in any immediate danger.

There has been no description of a suspect or suspects in the case provided yet.
