Neighbors told CBS4 that Gene Kapperman, 73, and Brandon Kapperman, 26, were found dead inside the home.

Police said a woman called 911 saying that her husband had shot a family member and then himself. Both men are dead.

What police have not confirmed is who shot who and what may have happened between the grandfather and grandson.

Neighbors were shocked to learn what happened. They said the family has lived in the home for years and are members of Larimer County's 4-Wheel Drive Mountaineer Club.

"Something awful happened, the ambulances didn't leave in a hurry so it's either something really, really awful or..." said neighbor Cheryl Frosh.

"But always very impressed by how close the family was, so this is very shocking," said neighbor Bryan Samsel.

The coroner will conduct autopsies on the two men.
