Longmont Police Search For Robbery Suspects

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- Two men who robbed a convenience store in Longmont remain on the run.

The robbers targeted the Western Convenience Gas store on Main Street in Longmont on Wednesday night.

Surveillance video shows the men, one with a sawed-off shotgun, bursting into the store, telling customers to get on the ground before grabbing the cash from the register.

"He pulls the shotgun out of his pants. He points it at the clerk and some of the customers in the store," said Longmont Police Commander Jeff Satur.

The second suspect follows and diverts into a back room, ordering everyone to the floor.

One of the suspects ordered the clerk to hand over money from the cash register and also steals a pack of cigarettes before leaving.

"It's pretty brazen. It's very aggressive. It's kind of an unusual robbery for a convenience store robbery," said Satur.

After the robbery the men took off eastbound on 15th Avenue.

Police are hoping even with the face masks the suspects wore, someone will recognize the men or even their clothing. Both men are believed to be Hispanic and about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-9 in height.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police.
