Search Crews Look For Missing Man In Clear Creek

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- Search crews once again searched Clear Creek for a missing man who was last seen June 7. Unfortunately, their search turned up nothing.

Sean Duplessis, 39, and a friend jumped into the rushing water around midnight June 7. According to a co-worker, both men had been drinking.

Duplessis from Alberta, Canada, seemingly disappeared into the water. At the time, creek waters were too high to perform a complete search of the area.

Because water levels have dropped to below 800 cubic feet per second, swift water rescue crews were able to search the entire creek from bank to bank.

Crews from the Golden Fire Department and Arvada Fire Department, with assistance from Golden Police Park Rangers and Miller Coors Security, searched from about 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m on Tuesday.

They used a series of techniques including walking through the water, probing throughout the creek and the banks, visual searches and draining a nearby canal diversion pond.

Golden Police also borrowed a drone to conduct an aerial search of the area last week.

All search efforts have been exhausted and there are no more leads.

Golden public information officer Karlyn Tilley said that Duplessis is still considered a missing person. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Golden Police at 303-384-8045.
