Woman Tossed From Raft, Body Found 3 Miles Downstream

SALIDA, Colo. (AP) – A woman’s body was found three miles away from where she was tossed from a raft on the Arkansas River.

The body of Amanda Taylor, 31, was found by her brother last night near Salida, about three miles downstream from where she was tossed from the raft into the water.

Taylor, of Vernal, Utah, was with six others when the raft they were riding in overturned as it went over a diversion dam Saturday night.

Five people in the group made it to shore, and authorities rescued a 22-year-old man who was found clinging to the overturned raft.
