Wife Of Aurora Fire Chief Appears In Court On Hit & Run Charges

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- The wife of Aurora's fire chief appeared in court on charges related to a hit-and-run crash that injured two children in another car.

Adriene Garcia, 50, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries and careless driving.

Police said she rear-ended a sedan stopped at a red light on May 14 and left the scene. Her Nissan Pathfinder was found about 20 minutes later.

Two children in the other car, who were not wearing seatbelts, were taken to a hospital. Garcia's attorney, Danny Foster, has said she managed to drive a mile before she called her husband, Aurora Fire Chief Mike Garcia, who in turn called 911.
