The event features the PRCA Rodeo Championship along with several concerts that include John Mellancamp, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock and Tim McGraw.

Cheyenne Frontier Days CEO Dan Cheney is excited about all this year's events.

"I'm excited about it all. To kick off the show this year we have the Cinch Rodeo Shootout which is like the all star game of rodeo," said Cheney.

"Then we start the PRCA Rodeo on Saturday and that will run through the following Sunday when we have the finals and we crown the Cheyenne Frontier Days Champions."

Christy Loflin is a Rodeo Champion who is looking forward to competing once again.

"It's the most amazing rodeo that we have. I'm actually in the circuit and it's the rodeo that you always dream about winning and it's one definitely where when you end your career you want that buckle and you want that title of being the Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion. So it's an honor to be that," said Loflin.
