Former Maketa Undersheriff Joins Effort For Him To Resign
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A former undersheriff is joining the effort to get El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa to resign.
The group asking Maketa to resign has gathered about 17,000 signatures.
The sheriff is under investigation for allegedly misusing money and having sexual relationships with subordinates.
Now Teri Goodall, who served as undersheriff with Maketa, says the allegations are affecting his leadership abilities and she's asking him to step down.
Maketa denies the allegations and says he's not stepping down. He has been elected to three terms. His time in office will end regardless in about seven months due to the term limit.
