15-Year-Old Girl Unconscious, Unresponsive After ATV Accident

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - An ATV accident in a remote area of Larimer County left a 15-year-old girl unconscious and unresponsive early Saturday morning, the sheriff's office said.

The teen, who hasn't been identified, was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland for treatment. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed.

The sheriff's office said the girl and her brother were riding ATVs on private property where they were helping build a fence. The girl left her brother to retrieve a drill and, shortly after, he heard her scream and found her ATV on top of her.

He managed to move the vehicle and transport her on his ATV to the nearest home -- an hour away -- when emergency medical teams were dispatched shortly before noon. The home is in the Crystal Mountain Road and Buckhorn area of Larimer County.
