Vigil Held For Man Killed In Head-On Crash In Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) – Friends and family gathered to remember a man killed in a head-on crash in Thornton.

The vigil was held Monday evening at 112th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. That’s where Jaime Alberto Bañuelos was hit and killed Saturday.

Police say a driver of a pickup was speeding, swerved to avoid a car, and ended up in oncoming traffic, hitting Banuelos head on.

Bañuelos leaves behind a wife and young son.

The driver of the pickup was arrested for investigation of reckless driving. His name hasn’t been released.
