Longs Peak Rescue Cost Estimated At $41,000
DENVER (CBS4) – Officials have released the cost of a rescue of a man who was stranded on Longs Peak last month.
Samuel Frappier, 19, called park rangers after he became stranded at about 13,000 feet on Long's Peak. Forty-six people and two helicopters worked to complete a dangerous rescue mission.
The cost of the rescue was estimated at $41,000.
The National Park Service does not charge for search and rescue services because they don't want people to hesitate to call for help.
