Police Search For Suspect Who Attempted To Break In Local Medical Marijuana Dispensary

BRECKENRIDGE, CO (CBS Denver) – The Breckenridge Police Department are trying to identify the suspects who attempted to break into a medical marijuana dispensary.

According to the press release obtained by the Summit Daily, the suspect broke the front window with a rock, and then crawled into the store.  The dispensary alarm sounded and the suspect is thought to have immediately exited the building through the rear window.

Breckenridge police responded to the alarm to clear the building and determined no merchandise was stolen.

Officers were able to gather DNA evidence and believe that the suspect has injuries to his hand.

Based off a security video police retrieved, the suspect is believed to be between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10 inches tall, with a thin build.

As of now police do not know the suspect's race, but are investigating whether other surveillance cameras in the vicinity may have captured additional video that could give a better description of the suspect.

A green Toyota 4runner which was stolen earlier and is connected to the attempted robbery has been recovered.

Colorado state law required all marijuana dispensaries to have extensive surveillance and alarm systems; and all marijuana products are required to be secured after business hours.

Police ask anybody with information to call (970) 453-2941.
