Woodland Park Mayor In Court On Sex Abuse Charges

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (CBS4)- The mayor of Woodland Park appeared before a judge on Wednesday and was ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim or her family.

David Turley was arrested last week and charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Turley's home was searched last week and evidence was collected but police won't say what they took. The investigation was turned over to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Turley was ordered by a judge to have no contact with the alleged victim or her family. He also cannot have contact with anyone 18 or younger without adult supervision.

Turley was elected in 2012 by the community he's called home for the last two decades.

He is expected in court next month to be advised of the official charges.
